Illustrated Journal #23

the-grand-illusion

I’ve been wanting to talk about this album cover for a while. It reminds me a project I did in my Intro to Visual Communication class last semester. It was the modular design project. It looks like a woman’s face, a horse’s body, a landscape, and forest thrown together quite literally. The art is balanced. I immediately look at the woman’s face in the center. The text on top is placed evenly together. There is enough visual weight each side that doesn’t make the whole piece distracting in any way.
