Morrison by AZIZA-FEMI (DeviantArt)

All hail the Lizard King.

I am a fan of The Doors. They are one of my favorite bands. Jim Morrison is as iconic as ever with his wicked rebellious style. What grabbed my attention about this piece was everything surrounding him. There is all this imagery. Is it to pay homage to The Lizard King? Or it it to be a visual representation of Morrison’s epic ‘Celebration of the Lizard?’ This piece also reminded me of my foundations class. The inked pictures and colors look likes something I would see a fellow classmate create.

Line: The lines that make up Jim Morrison have weight to them. The lines with heavier weight show that they aren’t receiving any light. However, the lines that are much lighter have exposure to a light source.

Shape: There are organic shapes used in this piece. That being the trees, fire, plants, water, and stars. The geometric shapes in this are the symbols and arrows scattered about. They are also non-objective in their design.
