Printbeatles: yellow submarine: titlecard by strongstuff (DeviantArt)

The Beatles aren’t one of my favorite bands. In fact, I always thought they were a bit overrated. I felt this way until I saw the movie Yellow Submarine about a week ago (at the time of writing this). It is an animated musical fantasy starring The Beatles, yet they don’t voice themselves. The movie was great. The music used was a good introductory for me to The Beatles.

Color: Not only in this artwork, but the movie too, is the usage of color to help capture the viewers attention. Every character is given there own color to help distinguish them from one another.

Unity: The artwork is organized in a way that allows the view to see each part of the work. The Beatles are organized on the bottom using their own colors to distinguish them from one another. The orange around them makes them the focus of that part.
